Two thieves are caught on video trying to break into an ATM and dashcam video shows a deputy saving a choking child in traffic are some of the moments that captivated our attention this week.

Take a look at this week in video:

It wasn’t a typical Monday morning for a man tasked with wrangling a loose cow on a busy Oklahoma highway.

Blake Igert, a contractor for Oklahoma National Stockyards pinback crew, was about to start a long day of sales when Igert saddled up and took off down the interstate on horseback.

"It was a little more intense this time. We were right in the middle of traffic. The cows were heading right into the interstate," Igert said.

He wrangled the cow down safely and Igert said it was an experience he will never forget.

"It’s not completely new, but you also don’t see it every day," Igert said.

Two crooks tried to break into, and then steal, an ATM in Omaha, Nebraska — but they walked away empty handed.

The machine’s surveillance camera recorded the incident when the two drove up to the ATM in a pickup truck. They tried to pry the machine open and even tried to hook a heavy chain from the back of the truck to the ATM and pull it open.

But all that did was pull off the front of the machine.

When the would-be thieves realized all their work was for naught, they threw the chain back into the truck and sped away, driving over some bushes in the process.

A brazen bear searching for a snack was able to swipe fast food from a car in New Hampshire.

The bear was caught on camera, standing on the hood of the vehicle, diving into a bag of food from McDonald's.

Jackson Police posted the video on Facebook as a reminder that "hungry bears don’t care."

Dashcam video captured the intense moment when a sheriff's deputy saved a choking child while at a red light in Dallas.

The video shows a mother carrying her 4-year-old daughter to a deputy's car behind her at a busy intersection.

"Just basically handed me her baby that was not responsive at all," Dallas County Sheriff's Deputy Keith Rose told KTVT. "I grabbed the baby and turned her over and pat her on the back, some fluid came out of her mouth, placed her on the driver's seat and just started CPR."

Moments later, Rose said he was relieved to see the child moving and breathing on her own.

Rose, who has nearly 35 years of experience, said he hadn't handled anything like this before, but his training was crucial.

In classic midwestern fashion, some area residents couldn't help but head to their front doors to capture a tornado-warned storm that passed through Kansas City.

A new preliminary damage report confirms a tornado touched down with 115 mph max wind, a 9-mile path length and 200-yard max wind.

Police in Ohio had an unusual encounter after a cow was reported on the loose.

A woman captured the encounter on video and posted it on Facebook, "Just a normal morning. Nothing to see here. An interesting call for our Colerain Police!"

Police said the cow was captured and safely returned to its owners.

"Our officers really took the bull by the horns on this case, and their commitment to see this shake out is commendable," the department said.
